Supervision for Psychotherapists and Counsellors
Avril's approach to Supervision is Integrative and relational. In the same way that she thinks of the therapeutic relationship sitting at the heart of her work as a therapist, she sees the relationship between supervisor and supervisee at the heart of the supervisory process.
The co-created partnership between supervisor and supervisee offers the possibility of professional support and a place to reflect on and explore clinical work. It also encompasses learning, challenge, professional development and the exploration of ethical and other professional issues.
Avril has been working as a supervisor since 2002 and is an
AHPP Accredited Supervisor. She supervises therapists and counselling psychologists working in a variety of settings, including NHS, voluntary sector and private practice, and with both long and short term work. She is experienced supervising trainee psychotherapists and counselling psychologists and is familiar liaising with training organisations and placements, where necessary. Avril offers both individual and small group supervision.
